Vanessa Farr

Vanessa Farr (PhD) focuses on women's experiences of violent conflict, including the demobilization, disarmament and reintegration (DDR) of women combatants after war, the impact on women of prolific small arms and light weapons (SALW), and women's coalition-building in conflict-torn societies. She is currently engaged in analysing gender mainstreaming in weapons collection programmes and DDR processes, undertakes research on the gendered impact of SALW, and is co-editing a book on SALW for the United Nations University.
