Michael Sachsse is a professional educator with over 30 years experience in vocational education and training. Over that time he has been a teacher, a trainer and a director of several large and progressive vocational education institutions. He is well qualified and highly regarded as a strategic planner, a change agent and as developer of educational policy and systems.
Since becoming a consultant in 1998, Michael has worked for a number of organisations including the Australian National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER), the OECD, the UN/ILO and SMEC International. The consultancies have taken him to developing countries in the Pacific, Asia and Africa, often in relation to post-conflict situations. Michael works equally well as a subject matter specialist in human resource and performance management, as a team leader and as a project manager. His work in the Solomon Islands and Afghanistan was concerned with the formulation of projects designed to reintegrate war affected people and communities through gainful employment. In addition to possessing a sound knowledge of labour market analysis and training needs assessment, he has demonstrated skills in the design and delivery of training programs both in the technical and business areas. He also has extensive experience in preparing people for self employment linked to the formation of micro-credit facilities. That project involved the design and successful delivery of a management development program for a large public utility in Ethiopia.
His work as a director of a large organisation and more recently as project manager have provided him with excellent leadership skills, communication skills, interpersonal skills, team skills and computing skills.
