Micha Hollestelle

Micha Hollestelle (Mr.) studied for his MA at the department of Development Studies, Radboud University Nijmegen. His thesis on Social Capital took him to the Phillipines for a nine months research. Since his study he has worked for both profit and non-profit organisations on policy analysis and international advocacy. Indeed he has a vast experience in advocacy & campaigning on the all international levels including UN. The last three an a half years Mr. Hollestelle worked for Pax Christi Netherlands, a Dutch NGO on Peace & Conflict, where he functioned as head of the policy and politics department. His thematic expertises lie in the field of war economies/ business in conflict, state failure, small arms and cluster weapons. Also, Mr. Hollestelle has well developed organisational and research / training skills. He has developed and implemented lobby and SALW training in countries covering a wide rage of cultural backrgounds. Recent examples of his work are a research on cluster weapons, a World map Of Failing States and a international expert conference on community security in the absence of the state. Having spearheaded and designed the succesful lobby for a new Dutch policy on Business in Conflict, he has worked with several international NGO's and companies to develop ways for business to no longer fuel conflict but instead have business activities foster sustainable peace. From december 2005 onwards, Mr. Hollestelle lives in Johannesburg, South Africa.
