Melissa Ruggles

Melissa Ruggles is TI’s programme assistant and editor. She possesses a natural talent and compelling ability for writing clearly and concisely, but also expressively. She applies the same level of attentiveness and precision to her editing. Melissa is a native English speaker and has several years of professional experience reviewing and editing legal and business documents, as well as academic papers and essays in the field of international relations. Having studied and worked in foreign countries, she is particularly familiar with many of the common mistakes made by non-native English speakers, both in speech and in writing. In addition, Melissa is an aspiring young professional in international affairs, with a particular interest in further developing her career in conflict resolution and management and post-conflict reform. Melissa has completed internships with the U.S. government and various international non-profit organizations, as well as served as an independent researcher for an international organization and as a paralegal at two law firms. Previous employers have praised her dedication and superior organization, research, analytical and social skills. Melissa holds a B.A. in International Affairs from James Madison University in the United States, and an M.A. in International Relations and Diplomacy from Leiden University in The Netherlands.
