Melissa Ruggles is TI’s
programme assistant and editor. She possesses a natural talent and compelling
ability for writing clearly and concisely, but also expressively. She applies
the same level of attentiveness and precision to her editing. Melissa is a
native English speaker and has several years of professional experience
reviewing and editing legal and business documents, as well as academic papers
and essays in the field of international relations. Having studied and worked
in foreign countries, she is particularly familiar with many of the common
mistakes made by non-native English speakers, both in speech and in writing. In
addition, Melissa is an aspiring young professional in international affairs,
with a particular interest in further developing her career in conflict
resolution and management and post-conflict reform. Melissa has completed
internships with the U.S.
government and various international non-profit organizations, as well as
served as an independent researcher for an international organization and as a
paralegal at two law firms. Previous employers have praised her dedication and
superior organization, research, analytical and social skills. Melissa holds a
B.A. in International Affairs from JamesMadisonUniversity
in the United States, and an
M.A. in International Relations and Diplomacy from LeidenUniversity
in The Netherlands.
