Jos de Beus has a background in tropical agriculture (MSc) and has worked for over 20 years in Africa. The first 10 years were spent on longer contracts (4 months to 3 years) in Niger, Rwanda, Mali and Guinea Bissau. Since 1994 he has worked as a consultant and has participated in over 60 missions in both English and French speaking Africa. Through experience and work he is specialised in:
Rural development (extended experience in participatory and process oriented training and methodologies)
Gender issues (facilitator and trainer concerning gender issues and gender mainstreaming at different levels)
Institutional development and organisational strengthening (facilitator and trainer)
Reconciliation and socio-economic rehabilitation
Democracy, decentralisation and god governance
Ecological aspects and sustainable development (e.g. ecological and environmental impact studies).
