Alwin van den Boogaard
Alwin van den Boogaard is a Dutch active army officer, shortly before retirement, who has an extensive mission experience, especially within the domains of CIMIC, DDR and SSR. The majority of his missions have been executed within Africa. He has worked within several organisations from UN-agencies towards missions in bilateral context. He has broad understanding and knowledge on operating within and with these organisations. His flexibility has been proven during the years he was senior officer of the Dutch Disaster Assessment Response Team (missions in the South-America and Iraq). He has proven experience of being capable of working within a multicultural, political sensitive and dynamic setting. His major achievements have been obtained within the Great Lake Region where, aside from having worked as strategic adviser within the Burundian Ministry of Defence, he executed several Peace Building Fund and bilateral projects on the edge of military and civilian society. He speaks, apart from Dutch, fluently French, English and German, some basic Kirundi.
